This 1950's terraced house in North London had been unsaleable, it had an air of neglect and an unloved feeling about it. Award winning Architects Sanya Polescuk have breathed new life into it, recycling many of the old materials, and making it entirely fossil fuel free.
Designed to be a temporary rental property and eventually a retirement home, the architects have chosen materials that will last: tough, easy to clean but also warm and homely with emphasis on low VOC and no undesirable ingredients.
Ketley quarry tiles were ideal for this. They have been laid both inside as well as outside on the terrace. Matching brown brindle bricks have also been used externally beneath the pivot windows.
