Making the right choice of landscape materials for this beautiful Victorian courtyard garden in Derbyshire was key for garden designer Victoria Philpott.  It is a small space with different levels, bordered by lovely limestone walls.  The slim dutch format dark Staffordshire blue clay pavers, laid in a running bond, add to the rustic feel of the courtyard with its oak sleepers and stained timber pergola.  The pavers transition down through a series of steps to the main terrace area.

Victoria comments, 'We're so glad we chose Ketley's Tenger pavers for the design of this courtyard garden.  The front garden features original Staffordshire blue clay pavers which have aged beautifully and sit well with the cottage garden feel of the space.  For the redesign of the back garden, we wanted to create a more contemporary feel, whilst retaining the character of the Victorian courtyard.  The slimline Tenger pavers allude to the heritage feel of the front garden, but with a contemporary paver profile.  The deep blue of the pavers, flecked with orange, pick up the brick of the house, whilst complimenting the limestone walls.  They are a pleasing blend of modern and classic and give the garden a more up-to-date feel.  We're really pleased with how well they suit the space and are also glad to be using a British manufacturer.'
