This small triangular plot, lying on the corner of 2 Victorian terraces in West Hampstead, Camden, was formally a mechanics garage.  With just 40m of space with which to work, architect Richard Brown of Brown Urbanism has created a beautiful  "work-home" for 2 people that is accessible, low cost, low embodied carbon and biodiverse all with minimal impact on the local environment.

Richard's design features an enclosed courtyard, which provides the street entrance as well as a garden space and multi use open living spaces that flow from one to the other.  Ketley quarry tiles were selected to unite the entire space including the exterior courtyard as well as to reference the sites history.  Against the white walls of the house, the ketley  quarry tiles add rich clay tones.
