Interior Designer - Rose Peploe, The Artistry House
A keen interest in history led the owners of the Plau Inn in Preston to uncover stories about the building dating back to the 17th Century. When they found reports of an old illegal gin bar below, they started digging and uncovered a wonderful vaulted cellar full of bricks and rubble. Within this space they went on to find an old medieval stone well, built sometime between 1100 and 1600. Rose Peploe, interior and spacial designer at The Artistry House has converted the cellar into a bar and used Ketley Staffordshire red quarry tiles for the floor. They look like they’ve been there forever!
